Introduction

In pursuit of our mission to promote excellence in the cardiovascular education, Daily Cardiology Academy is honored to announce the Young Cardiologists award 1401.

This prestigious award, sponsored by Arvand Pharmed, is designed to persuade young cardiologists to take part in advancing the quality of cardiovascular education by taking action and producing educational material themselves.

This grand award will go to the young cardiologist who produces the most outstanding presentation of an interesting real-life clinical case managed by themselves.

“Young Cardiologist” definition

 “Young Cardiologist” consists of all cardiologists, residents or fellowships of cardiology who were born on 1360/1/1 and after

Case scenario guideline

• The scenario has to be about one of the real-life cases managed by the young cardiologist him/herself
• It has to have interesting and educational characteristics making it notable for a scientific presentation
• The presentation must follow general principles of scientific presentation
• The case scenario must focus on the medical treatment of cardiovascular diseases and discussing the details of interventional and surgical procedures should be avoided
• The privacy of the patients must be respected through observing the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) available from here: (https://www.cdc.gov/phlp/publications/topic/hipaa.html)

Technical considerations

• The presentation has to be up to 10 minutes in length and up to 100 MB in size.
• The file must only be submitted in MP4 video format via the submission page
• All slides must be written in English and the voice-over must be in Farsi
• The image quality is very important. Therefore, the presentations with indecipherable or faded writings or pictures will be rejected
• The first page of all presentations must include the name and affiliation of the presenter

Peer Review process

• The contestants have to submit their cases before April 20th 2022 (Farvardin 31st 1401).

• We will introduce a group of faculty member cardiologists in universities all over the country to accept the role of mentorship and assist the contestants who might need any guidance for preparing their presentations.

• After the deadline is due, the scientific board of Daily Cardiology Academy will begin reviewing the submitted presentations and choose the ones eligible for further consideration based on their adherence to the case scenario guideline provided above.

• These cases will be uploaded on the Daily Cardiology website and users can rate them via a pre-designed voting system for two weeks.

• Based on both the user ratings and the scientific board conclusion, the most outstanding presentations will enter the final round of review.

• A 3-person committee of distinguished senior cardiologists including Dr. Bahram Aminian from Iran, Dr. Mehdi Shishehbor from US, and Dr. Roxana Mehran form US will be judging the live, in-person presentations of the contestants during the main event and decide the young cardiologist entitled to the prestigious “Daily Cardiology Academy’s Young Cardiologist” award.
