Introduction

Daily Cardiology Academy is honored to announce the details of “Young Cardiologists award 1403” to once again pursue its aim of promoting excellence in cardiovascular education.

This prestigious award has been designed to persuade our young cardiologist colleagues to take part in advancing the quality of cardiovascular education by taking action and producing educational material themselves.

This grand award will go to the young cardiologist who produces the most outstanding presentation of an interesting real-life clinical case managed by themselves or as a team of which they have been a member.

“Young Cardiologist” definition

“Young Cardiologist” consists of all cardiologists, residents or fellowships of cardiology who were born on 1357/1/1 and after

Case scenario guideline

• The scenario has to be about one of the real-life cases managed by the young cardiologist themselves or as a team of which they have been a member.
• It has to have interesting and educational characteristics making it notable for a scientific presentation.
• The general principles of a scientific presentation must be observed by the contestants.
• The case scenario must focus on the medical treatment of cardiovascular diseases and discussing the details of interventional and surgical procedures should be avoided.
• The privacy of the patients must be respected through observing the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) available for review from here: (https://www.cdc.gov/phlp/publications/topic/hipaa.html)

Technical considerations

• The presentation has to be up to 10 minutes in length and up to 100 MB in size.
• The file must only be submitted in MP4 video format via the submission page and the files sent via other means (email etc.) will not be accepted.
• All slides must be written in English and the voice-over must be in Farsi
• The image quality is very important. Therefore, the presentations with indecipherable or faded writings or pictures will be rejected
• Only the first page of all presentations must include the name and affiliation of the presenter.

Peer Review Process

The contestants have to submit their cases until Ordibehesht 1^st 1403.

• After the deadline is due, the scientific board of Daily Cardiology Academy will begin reviewing the submitted presentations and choose the ones eligible for further consideration based on their adherence to the case scenario guideline provided above.

• These cases will be uploaded on the Daily Cardiology website and users can rate them via a pre-designed voting system for two weeks.

• A select group of 15 outstanding case discussions will undergo a comprehensive review by a distinguished panel of faculty members from various regions across Iran. This evaluation will take place during a one-day event where contestants will present their cases in person.

•A 4-person committee of distinguished senior cardiologists including Dr. Bahram Aminian, Dr. Seyed Hashem Sezavar, Dr. Mehdi Shishehbor, and Dr. Ahmad Amin will be judging the live, in-person presentations of the contestants during the main event and decide the young cardiologist entitled to the prestigious “Daily Cardiology Academy’s Young Cardiologist” award.
